XPS GEN 2, Lan Party, YAY!

Thread Starter
Well I want to my lan party this weekend with my Newly Purchased Dell XPS Gen 2. Needless to say I was the only person running bf 2 1600x1200 High Settings with 2aa and VERY smooth.

Another guy had a 6800 Gt OC but could not handle those settings, plus my screen just was killer.

The guys LOVEDDDD this laptop, two of them are looking into purchasing it when they saw how easy it was for me to setup, just pulled outta backpack, plugged in mouse, keyboard and network card and I was ready to rock n roll. ONE MORE reason why I love DELL!!!!

I had it just arrived on time for a LAN party.
That sure was cool indeed!
And so much easier then dragging your big ass mega machine to a LAN!

Sorry for being a noob but you have to understand I haven't play lan in my life.

Is that network card the same for the wifi.. the Intel PRO? or you need to buy another card for wireless lan?

Also what else you need for lan playing?

The Intel PRO is the wireles card the other one is an onboard Broadcom 10/100/1000

Am I just being thick...but in BF2 the highest resolution I can select from the options is something like 1280 x 960....where do I select 1280 x 1024 for the desktop TFT and 1600 x 1200 for the XPS?
I can only select 1024x768 on my D8300. I would love to run the game in 1280x1024 which is my 1800FP's native res. How can I do this?
You have to edit the resolution by right clicking the BF2 desktop icon and editing it in the properties section. DO a search on BF2 and WIDESCREEN. There are plenty of threads on it. I have a question for the rest of you guys Ive never been to a LAN party b4 and would love to attend one but every time i look for one theres none to be found in New York City. Can anyone help me locate the nearest LAN party to my location. Thanx!!

Same here.

Haha - just to throw in my two cents, don't ask me why, but I did the CS:S video stress test on all possible highest settings and returned 97.77 FPS and my friend's SLI non-OC GTs returned 95.xx something.

Needless to say, jaws dropped.
