Are there any major advantages of having 64bit XP at the moment?

Yes, this system is now compatible with the next generation of applications. 64-bit also enables more data per clock cycle to be processed making way for better performance.

I don't see it as a necessary upgrade though, yet... heck you could even run MS-DOS 6.22. What ever is your flavor!
