Alienware deals

Does anyone have a clue what the next deal will be on the sentia? Do they normal go up or down in rebates at this time of year? I'm looking to order a sentia in the next few weeks, and since I've got it up to about $2400 I'd like to see if I can get a little better deal.

umm i looked thru all of my alienware emails from the past where they send me deals and rebates and this seemed to be the best so far...my sentia came up to approximately $2500 (CDN) and with the rebates on shipping and all it was down to $1945 (CDN)..i had it shipped to michigan as that saved me about $200 on shipping itself cause throughout the US its free right now...maybe in the next month or so it might be better but it seemed pretty reasonable so i ordered it...btw back to school times (just before september) are the worst to buy because thats when everyone needs it and they jack up the prices =D thats my 2 cents

The highest rebate I've seen is $600 for the Sentia, and that was in May (I think). AW has a habit of updating with a new offer on Thursdays (occasionally Friday), and they also honor the higher rebates if your laptop is still at the factory. SO, my advice is to order it on a Wednesday, that way if a higher rebate is offered the next day, you can call them up and ask them if they'll give you the extra discount. If the discount amount goes DOWN the next day, then you still have your better discount~

Do they really raise the prices for the back to school time period? I'm looking for a laptop for use in university this fall, and the Sentia is my top pick right now. I was waiting though, hoping to get a better deal. I always thought that they gave better rebates in mid-late August for students, and especially since the Sentia is the student laptop they offer...

BTW, this is my first post! I'll probably be spending alot more time here as it gets closer to my purchase.

yea the sentia is my choice for the same reason...need it for university in the fall...and the jacking up the prices is true for anything...not just electronics even clothes and supplies...the worst time to buy these things is when everyone wants them...thats when the companies jack up prices to make the biggest profit margins =D

I messed up. Prices changed today- for the bad. They still have the $400 rebate and they've taken $100 off the price (went from 1099 after rebate to 999), but the price of memory went way up. 2GB memory upgrade was under 300 before, now it's 505. I went from being under $2500 to around 2700. I know I could get an extra stick of memory for cheaper, but I was really liking this because I wouldn't have to worry about warranty and aftermarket parts compatibility and everything (like I woulda with a Dell 700m). Now I don't know whether to go ahead and order before prices go higher or wait for rebates. School starts in a little over a month, so I'd like to order ASAP.

sspicollo8 - not so sure if i'd wait if i were you. friday i would have saved $300 if I purchased in the morning like I was going to....I waited later in the afternoon 'cause my lil bro wanted something for himself. when i saw the huge price difference, I called and even faxed the "saved cart" specs to show the price I had in the a.m. - they wouldn't honor the difference because "prices are subject to change".

Gah! I just read the my email about the rebate ending tomorrow! I'm not ready to buy a laptop yet, but I don't want to risk the price going up and then they never offer a similiar deal. Does anyone know how often they offer rebates? Like do they pretty much always have some kind active? Will I be lucky to get a another $400 or around $400 rebate anytime soon? I was hoping to purchase my laptop no later than maybe August 15.

The $400 deal ends tomorrow?? I was gonna order mine tonight but found out the credit card limit is 2300 and my laptop costs 2600, so now I have to wait til next week to get it fixed. Daggit.

Are the codes one time use that are specific to each catalog or are they the type that anyone can use? If they aren't 1-time, could someone please PM them to me? I put in a request for a catalog but I'll hopefully be ordering in the next few days and don't expect my catalog to be here by then.
