I got the Z63a for my sister thanks to suggestions from these forums. I love it, and I'm real picky, so I'm sure she'll love it, too.
Just have a few questions.
1) I've only been lent laptops in the past, I've never actually owned one, but one thing has always bothered me them. Compared to a SLOWER desktop, like an old K7, the faster P-M isn't even half as responsive. I mean, it sometimes takes twice as much time to load up Word, etc. What causes this? Is it the 5400 RPM hard disk? Should I buy the 7200 RPM when they're more available?
2) I knew when I bought this it would get hot. I hear that about the W3 chasis. It does get hot in a couple places, and it's a little distracting. No cause for concern really, just a little con. Is there any way at all to reduce the heat? I'm assuming the hot spot under the touchpad is the P-M, so can I do something like undervolt it? She's used to using a P-3 with 600mhz and 256mb PC-100 ram under WinXP, so if I take the CPU speed down to 1500mhz or so she won't care.
3) I started writing a review. It's halfway done or so. Should I finish it? Anything I should add to it?
Thanks for everything,
Kale
