You'll find updates for some of the Vista specific tools for the F4000... including a new BIOS. Yes, I said it... a new BIOS... version 3A27.

Enjoy
I stand corrected as far as the Bios release goes, It would be nice if someone could confirm that the bios release does in fact allow the Ferrari to run at 200fsb, that is what the thread is about, if not then the workaround still applies using A64Info.....

Please read my post in this thread regarding the new 3A27 firmware, http://www.notebookforums.com/thread191604.html

Thanks AmpCore for verifying, seems A64Info is STILL the workaround to get 200fsb on the ram........i will be sticking to the 3A19 bios for now, the others hold no better improvements for me ....

3A21 BIOS version does not have the FSB slowdown... only 3A23 and up. Also, I never said anything about 3A27 having a DDR400 fix. I just stated that it was incorrect to state that there are no BIOS updates past 3A23.

I never said you did , I was mearley keeping the thread on track new bios does not support ddr 400, still needs a "fix" if you want your PC3200 running at rated speed ....

Has anyone run the Vista performance index on a 4005 with DDR400 enabled on it? I'm wondering how much of a difference it makes. If it's just .1 or .2 it might not be really worth it that much. A .2 or higher gain would be nice, but unless it jumps higher then that it may not be worth all the hassle. At least the lappy doesn't hit less then a 4.0 overall.

1. Flashing to the 3a23 bios is a waste of time, it downgrades your fsb by 9, weather its to help a lil on battery power i dont know, i flashed back to 3a21....either way it didnt help with running at 200fsb with 3200 mem, though i didnt expect it too.....

2. Clockgen is a hit and miss as it oclocks your cpu mhz at the same time as it does the rams fsb, as you increase fsb up goes the mhz, not really the solution i had in mind...

3. The best option though flaky is the a64 tweaker option, the only thing with this was that the proggy for a start doesnt save your selected options so when you reboot with the options set it doesnt load the ones you chose.....Added to this is the main prob i found which is jumping from 166fsb default straight to 200fsb, the system freezes.......NOw at first you would think oh oh, the ram wont handle it, well no this aint true........
IF i first oc to 183fsb and then set and then oc to 200fsb then no problem system runs stable, its the large jump from 166 to 200fsb it doesnt like......
Also when i run at 200fsb in windows i can change the Refresh Rate (Tref) to 200 MHZ 3.9us and i can also change the CPC to 1T and it runs perfect.....Mem speed shows as 10,11,4,4,2.5 in cpuz........
The a64 settings can be changed manually so that at start up you could boot at a possible 200fsb......Unfortunatley i dont think my particular ram will do this as i say it freezes the system, i think i can possibly get it too boot at 183fsb without a freeze though i am still testing this....Others might with diffirent ram might be able too boot into windows at 200fsb.....

I was wondering if anyone else had success with getting there 3200 ram to boot at 200fsb using a64 tweaker and if they did then they might share there success and settings with us .

Cheers Logan

This is very helpfull, but I still cannot make it , freezes even i set it up for 183 first and than 200 .. But it's true, that i have 4005, not 4002.
