Getting Screen Replacement... backup question

Im getting a screen replacement for my 9300 because it has sparkles. In the box that I have to send my 9300 back in for repair, there is a slip saying that I have to backup or take out my hard drive. I have an external hard drive and was wondering how to back my 9300s hdd onto the external.

Is this really necessary to even to this?

BTW, I need a quick answer becuase Im sending it back soon

why don't you just remove your hard drive like they say? It's just two screws (HD is under the PCMCIA slot).

Incidentally, are you getting a Samsung to replace a Samsung with sparkle?
