Hauppauge WinTV

I am having quite a few problems with the Hauppauge WinTV tuner that comes with the 9300 and I'm not sure if it's the box or if I'm doing something wrong. Hopefully someone could help me.

I have the cable line going directly to the box. The setup recognized the cable and then went through the TV Guide channels.

1. The channel doesn't coincide with the Guide. If I want MTV and it's channel 20, it's actually the Oxygen channel.

2. A lot of the channels are coming up scrambled as if I'm watching scrambled porn or something.

I just have the USB to the computer, the power line, and the cable line attached. Am I missing something? Thanks a lot.

I can't help you here...If no one really answers you soon,
I'd say try AVS forum--the HTPC guys on there are AMAZINGLY knowledgeable about this stuff, and helpful.

There should be a place in the setup that you can tell it what cable providor you have. I have the media center version so I dont know exctly how to configure yours. sorry I couldnt be more help.
