Ok my toshiba 60gb 7200 rpm hd died after 2 years of service. I just replaced it with a samsung 40gb spinpoint 5400 rpm hd. After about an hour of messing around after trying to get the damn thing to get recognized, I realized that there was no noise not even a near silent hum comming from it. So I decided to jump start it by connecting the ide cable right as it is trying to reconize hardware. It worked and I got my OS on their the only problem now is that whenever i restart my comp or shut down and turn it on it will not recognize it unless I do the same process over and over again. What am I doing wrong I followed the damn manual and that didnt work. Please using the simplest terms as possible is much appreciated.

what version of the bios do you have? (you can see it on the boot up screen) Check to make sure it is the latest version from sager, and if not, reflash it, following sager instructions. OR the bios my be corrupt in a small way and require a reflash anyway. Thats the fastest cheapest solution that comes to my mind.

Make sure you have backups of your laptop in case it becomes fubar and you have to send it to sager.

I'd appreciate it if someone could e-mail me the latest bios v10. I've seemed to have misplaced my copy. My email is UFFooFighter@gmail.com and if its not too much trouble the one before v10 also just to test.

What model number sager do you have? When i look at the sager bios/drivers section, it says this for the bios.

Forget it I RMA'd the samsung and gonna get a new one. Can someone please list the interface that the 8890 supports. Also maybe specific models. Thx in advance.

By interface I assume you mean disk interface.
All 3 of the 8890 disk bays are PATA IDE ultra DMA mode 6.
Any standard laptop disk should work in your beast.
