I have an issue with the sound in my AW lappy. First, this is totally different than the wifi/sound problems (I have that problem too).
I first noticed the random crackly-pops coming from both speakers while playing BF1942. While trying to resolve the problem, I noticed you detect the problem from the Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices by rapidly clicking on the play button for any of the windows sounds. It seems like if I click the play button again before it finishes playing the previous sound, I get a small pop/crackle when the new sound is started.
Does anyone else have this same problem with their AW? If not, any suggestions as to what I can try. I've unistalled and reinstalled the C-Media drivers (I didn't find anything later than what AW already has on their site). I really can't afford to reinstall WinXp as I have about 2 days of (finicky) setup on the drive. I did partition when I did the first reinstall in preparation for the day I'd need to to a full reinstall (with XP this happens far less than it used to, but it still happens from time to time - especially when you get brave some night and start screwing with beta drivers or something).
