Calling The Experts..How to get rid of Tiger

I'm not sure this is the right forum to ask this....but here is the situation. Please keep in mind I am a PC person and have very little experience with Macs. I am the tech person in an office where 29 people have PCs with windows and 1 has a Powerbook. We got Tiger for the Powerbook and installed it (upgrade not clean install). Now certain programs the user needs (SPSS) don't work. I called the SPSS people and they said it would not be fixed till the end of July. How do I go about removing Tiger and putting Panther back on? Do you recommend this as the solution? Would it be tough for me to do?

Back up the hard drive and do an erase and install of Panther, then just copy back your apps and stuff. A few might have to be reinstalled, and all will have their default preferences, but most should work fine.
