X300 performance on T43

Thread Starter
Hello,

I'm considering an IBM T43, but the weakness seems to be in the GPU...only an X300. Is a 64MB X300 a 'very lousy card'?

Also, is it capable of running Warcraft 3 at 1024 res with everything maxed?

If this topic has been beaten to death already, can someone post the link to any benchmarks or such? Thanks!

I can't help much, only to the question of is it lousy.. I would say no. I watched DVD's on it and I wasn't impressed per say, but I wasn't disappointed either. Obviously, it's not top of the line.. but it got the job done... no shadowing, no excess reflections, everything appeared fine. If you're really concerned with the chip and gaming - consider the 15" with a better card.. I think they have an option for the FireGL V3200 with 128MB. Now the X300 from what I hear is approximately on the level of the ATI 9600 and maybe slightly lower than that, but the FireGL seems higher.

Hope that helps and maybe others will chime in.

I'm pretty sure Warcraft 3 won't be a problem--it's such an old game. My 32 MB 7500 already handles most strategy games (like Warcraft) pretty well.
