Step by step guide to maxing out the XPS2?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, finally took the pluge.

Ordered the XPS2 with the 2.0ghz, a 60gb 7200rpm drive, and 512mb of ram. (I'll purchase more ram aftermarket, Dell's prices suck)

Where can I find a step-by-step guide to which drivers are the best performing, bios settings, and of course... how to overclock the video card to the max people have been enjoying it at?

yes, me too

Mine is on the way. I would love to know this stuff as well.

The ONLY way to get the most performance out of your new PC is to reformat it the second you get it.

You cannot overclock the video card manually. There is a thread on how to flash video bios that have higher clocks, but if you do not know what you are doing you stand a greater risk of breaking your video card.

And probably the search button will answer most your questions..

Can you make a OS boot disk with Windows Media Center Edition like XP Home? I think I may have made a mistake choosing Media Center Edition over Home.

I think MCE may come on a DVD, so Dell should include it or ship it if you want it. I could be wrong.

You have to bitch at Dell for them to send you an OS disk.

My XPS came with the OS disk and I ordered MCE. I'd like to think all XPS's come with the OS disk.

Is reformatting the only way to get a fast XPS2 or can I get by with manualling deleting all the bloatware and using registry destroyers and stuff?
