I installed firmware today and so far I think its great. I played hl2 for ~2hrs this aftoernoon and my palm didn't sweat at all. Very cool update.

Uh, read my post above. I suggest using the firmware in conjunction with gethermal. setting the ac2 and fan off to 40/35 and that fixes the fans shutting off at 45 that people are seeing. I guess people are just avoiding talking about this or something because I'm the only one here not downing either the firmware or gethermal.

is this version of the fan controller a bio update or a update on the fan controller?
I think it comes down to 2 sides:
1) Those whose laptop (at idle) never goes below 45C. For these people, the new fan firmware is great because the fan is not shutting down, and cycle on and off.
2) People whose laptop idle below 45C (like me). The on and off fan cycle is rather annoying and, most importantly, it might not be healthly for the chip.

For that reason, I didn't upgrade to the new bios.

Also: I am getting the impression that the new firmware will generally increase the idle temperature to high 40s-50s??? Am I wrong? Please let me know. Thx

and...

3) "People whose laptop idle below 45C (like you). The on and off fan cycle is rather annoying and, most importantly, it might not be healthly for the chip" UNLESS YOU USE GETHERMAL TO SET THE FAN OFF TEMP BELOW YOUR NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE, THEN "the new fan firmware is great because the fan is not shutting down, and cycle on and off."

Although as has already been stated in the past, "Get Thermal" Is not supported under Sager's warranty as it is messing with the intended thermal design of the notebook. Damage done to the notebook using this program will void their warranty, and IMHO I would stick with the firmware since "Get Thermal" is NOT supported. The current thermal design will cause no harm or additional wear and tear to the processor. Sager is looking at readjusting the current firmware to lessen the amount of unneeded throttling.

also so you know this flash works on the Aw 7700 i used it and FN + f2 cranks all teh fans on high. but i still like the get thermal and thermal hack better.

Justin Sane we haven't had you on our boards spamming warranty voiding information in quite some time, lets go ahead and get this straight from the get go. If you continue to spam this in every thread mentioning the thermal design of the d900t or you cute little keyboard tray modification we will continue banning all of your aliases and IP addresses as we have done so many times before. So to save us both the time and the hassle... please quite while your behind.

Ah that explains why adam alter said my isp was on the ban list. I just recently got cable and wondered why i was banned when i never signed up. he told me you had a spammer that in the past used the same isp as me. but for you to automaticaly assume I am that same spammer makes you look like a jerk. not to mention dead wrong . but no foul im to old and tired to let kids like you get to me.
now on to why i joined this forum in the first place. So am i to understand this flash only adds in the f2 command it does not fix the fan chirp? and if so did sagar every make a flash to fix that besides the one that runs fans at a fast constant speed?

Huh... I never knew cable services routed through web proxies not registered to them. Hey though I guess I am just a kid and should bow to your wisdom huh . The I guess since you aren't him...*cough* let me go ahead and point out the advice you are giving is going to void the warranties(and in many case cause harm... do some searches.) on the customers in this section, and as a moderator of this section i will ask you to stop mentioning it.

K, thanx

Although to answer your question in the case of all the Sager user I have spoke to to date it has fixed the chirping issue the were having and in most cases the users have found the firmware to be quieter, I would suggest contact your laptop's OEM for a fix to help you if you are still having issues.

I know about this GetThermal program. I read the thread regarding the program and the confusion it caused to some people. That's why I never install it in the first place. I would rather not experiment with something that can void the warranty. To those successfully using GetThermal, then more power to you. I am staying away.

NP just saw a bunch other threads on it and was helping those with hot cpu's
as far as a webserver router i dont know either i just turn on the pc and go.
any way does this sagar bios fix do anything besides allow you to turn on the fans 100% with f2 on a sagar laptop? i have had my fan chirp on a random basis but never all the time.
and on a last note not to be rude but why dont i see any post about get thermal being scorned by you or any admin telling them to stop? considering the hack i found does nothing but allow you to control the app that they already had been talking about. seems as soon as you thought i was your old spammer justine sane you flipped out on me. heck even your "cough" was a way to say you still think im a spammer.
either way I never told any one to use get thermal all i said was if they already did use it the hack lets them use hotkeys to adjust it. and if i did seem like i was condoning voiding a warantee, believe me i wasnt you should never do anything your pc manufacturer does not themselves recommend. now im tired and buzzing on my after work beers so i bid you good evening.

I have not seen that Hypersonic will void warranties for use of this software, have you heard otherwise?

No. They have not specifically mention it, but I assume Sager does all the repairs for them. So whatever Sager's policy is, might also apply to resellers like Hypersonic. Even if they said otherwise, I still wouldn't use GetThermal because the risk of screwing up my laptop is way greater than the benefit of quieter fan. I saw the program interface, and it looks complicated, especially for first time users.
Btw I emailed Sager and they told me that Press FN+F2 keeps the fan going all the time while in normal mode they turn off at 45.. SO it should work for both kinds of people.. Always on and always off..
You obviously haven't tried out the new always on mode. It is specifically meant for while you are gaming (very loud) and not meant for general use.

HyperSonic does their own repair work. Also, they are a Clevo reseller similar to Sager, Voodoo, Alienware, etc. You are not buying a "Sager" machine when ordering from HyperSonic.
