That being said, we haven't heard of any on-going issues with x64 on the EX7's.
Pat, Let me ask you this question:
Can the EX7 (Clevo D900T) be ordered from Hypersonic configured with a dual boot setup? Say WindowsXP 64 and Windows Media Center. This would give you some options if you were having difficulties with certain programs.
I believe I have narrowed my decision between Boxx, Eurocom and Hypersonic down to Hypersonic. In all probabilty, however, the decision will go to the first of these three to offer the new 100 GB 7200 RPM hard drives. Also, I was trying to hold out for the new AMD dual core processor, but that is looking like it won't be happening on 01 August 2005, as Eurocom was just recently advertising (Eurocom has now changed the shipping date to August 2005).
I need a workstation notebook primarily for doing 3d rendering and CAD. Boxx probably has the better record for workstation experience but offers only a 1 year warranty on their notebooks. Eurocom has great configuration flexibility, but costs several hundred dollars more for like configurations. Hypersonic, both by default and the fact that I can find very few negative comments about them on the notebook forumns, becomes the frontrunner.
I am becoming desparate to place an order but the new hard drives and, possibly, dual core processors deserve major consideration when you are a bout to spend $6,500 + for a new notebook computer.
