F4005 BSOD on Battery

Hi there,

Had the 4005 for a few days now and rather happy over all, But, yup, capital B.

Every time I attempt to use the machine on its battery power I get a BSoD due to the ATI drivers getting into an infinite loop and reboot, in an infinite loop. Made use of the restore disks, rebuild etc. No joy.

Any Ideas would make me very happy.

All the best and thanks.

Best regards

Richard

I don't know what's going on.
But in the three days I've had my Ferrari it has frozen twice - both times while running off battery.

If you say that the drivers are the problem, then try uninstalling the old drivers and installing new ones.
I’ve been using ATI’s Catalyst 5.6 driver modded to work with the mobile X700.

I used this tool to make the drivers usable with the mobile X700: http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/

You can get the Catalyst 5.6 driver here: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=27

Think you should contact ACER - you might have a hardware related problem since you haven't installed anything but the standard software.

Thanks oelj,

I've got the Cat drivers and done the mod thing, on power seems great, havn't had the guts to attempt a reboot on battery yet, just too busy, but will give it a try and let you know.

Again, thanks for the advice and links.

Best regards

Richard
