What HD interface does 6000 use????

I went to newegg looking to get a new HD to replace my measily 40Gig in my Inspirion 6000. When I got their I saw three HD interface options, ATA-6, ATA-7, and SATA. I don't know what kind I should get for the 6000.

just get the hitachi 60gb 7200-or any of the 80 or 100gb 7200 rpm if they are out yet.

I believe most laptops use SATA... but I could be wrong.

Depends on the drive. SATA is a high speed, and ATA6 and ATA7 are dependant on a pin config if I remember correctly. The box for the drive should tell you what kind it is.

I have never even though about that stuff. I just bought a standard 80Gb 2.5" HDD off ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....tem=6776781262

you could also look at what hard drive you have in "Hardware Manager" and paste into google to check the specs...
