I just got the Panasonic SV-AV30 and this thing is friggin' awesome. It's a digital camera, video with voice unlimited, voice recorder, mp3 recorder and tv/vcr/dvd recorder.

You can record tv shows or whatever using av cables to an adapter that comes with it and record your favorite shows. Then you can transfer the shows that can be viewed on windows media in mpeg4 format. So unlike our 88XX sager buddies, the 56XX owners can now transfer tv to our lappies not to mention do all the other fun stuff of recording friends etc.

I got 3 x 256 sd cards for 65 bucks each and it comes with a 64 mb sd card. A 512 card is on the pricey side but records one hour and 20 minutes of high quality video. The best part, is that this little device is 275 bucks or around 287 online. Totally worth it as it has so many functions.
