Audio Problems with Headphones

Yesterday my audio in my XPS Gen 2 was working great with my headphones until all of a sudden I could only hear the audio with one ear. So I tried another pair of headphones but thatg didn't fix it, so I knew it wasn't my headphones. I played around with the headphone jack by pulling my headphones out a little bit until I could hear out of both ears. The problem is that it doesn't sound nearly as good and it is much quieter. I tried downloading a new driver off of Dell's website but that didn't help and I even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, is my headphone port broken?

Twist it around and jiggle where the wires meet the plastic/rubber support areas for the plug. Be listening on your headphones to see if sound comes back. Mine does this often and comes back with a little bit of movement.

It sounds like you've played with it plenty and not come up with anything... Time to call dell I suppose.. I don't think that's an easy fix... Anyone know if the headphone/mic/firewire ports are on a component that plugs into the motherboard or are they integrated?

I was thinking of getting that turtle audio usb thing, its cheap and probably would fix the problem, don't want to bother with sending my laptop in.
