New and just ordering XPS2

Thread Starter
New here and was wondering about a few things i heard on the forums and about my XPS2 im about to buy.

-Is it smarter and cheaper to initially buy low memory with the system and then buy your own for cheaper elsewhere?

-Are there any other ways of bringing the price down I should know about?

-Is it best when i first get it to format it right away? Is this because of the crap Dell puts on it?

-Anything else I should know or be aware of when buying and owning the XPS2?

Wow. Do a search in the future but since it's your first post...

-yes, buy the minimum from dell and order cheaper RAM from newegg.com

-well, what do you know about now? use the coupons if you aren't already.

-most people like to do a clean install, but others are happy with control panel--remove programs, etc. its up to you.

-yes. read the forum and you'll find out what.

Yes upgrade the memory yourself. Buy the minimum from Dell. As far as saving money on components, the memory is the best place to start. Buy the lowest speed processor which I think is the 2ghz.
