Pics here. Not too bad looking IMHO... but she's thicker than a whale omelette. That's what you get for buying a Prescott laptop (yikes)

WHY P4 and not P-M, Dell i9300 is able to do it. hehehe
post #7 of 26
this better have colorshine
they better put the 6800 in a centrino or turion NOW besides dell and fujitsu, I mean one of them isn't available in the US and the other is 17"; unpractical, had I seen the 9200 before buying I would have past it up

An A4 (Z81) chassis with a Prescott? Ugh. No thanks! No matter how good the graphics are.
Yeah, would've been nice if it had Pentium M or Turion in it. Also, it lacks a DVI out port.

Small steps guys... this looks like their first real swing at a DTR. I think its going to be a P4 for the main reason that its a DTR, not your everyday take to school/work/library ect.
so now it has MXM tech with the 6800go 256mb card, which is nice. who knows what it will be upgraded to in the future, but at least the capability is there.
How heavy will it be?
Proably heavy, look how thick it is, heat is goin to be an issue, as is batt life, all stick with the Z0vrefresh, and my Z71v
post #15 of 26
looks thick, the P4 is gonna make it pretty darn hot too....O well, I will be happy with my Z70v refresh
post #16 of 26
I agree with the Turion or the Pentium M.
Ooh, I cant wait until someone buys this laptop, and replaces the Z71V vid card, if possible.
pentium 4 just sucks, why is anyone using it anymore, its hot, its slow, it kills batteries. just garbage... and yes i agree with the above statement, PM or Turion, even a regular AMD64 is better than P4

P4...oh dear

imo the Prescott in a laptop is just a recipe for disaster in terms of heat and fan noise.

I used to own a Dell i9100 with a P4 3.4ghz processor, 1 gb ram, hitachi 7200 rpm 60GB HDD and the awesome Radeon 9800 256MB, it was one helluva powerful lappy but the downside was constant noise and heat.

The idea of a DTR seemed like a good one to me when I bought the Dell. I figured it would be easier to transport than a desktop set up and though it's true, looking back I only made one major trip with it from France to Japan. After that it stayed put at home and I would have been much happier with agood desktop PC for gaming and photoshop and a less powerful but light weight lappy for wireless stuff, university etc.

So my advice to anyone thinking about buying a DTR is go with a Desktop computer and get a cheap laptop for portability...if you can afford it that is.
