Just something to consider.
Ah stop scouring the forum and get to work on that aluminum you just got ehehehhe j/k

So, I am to consider a completely unrelated matter?

Seriously, unless each full discharge cycle lowered it from that 67% figure, or you could charge it further by unplugging it briefly and plugging it back in, I don't really care.

It would never get above the 67% figure unless I plugged in the right tip or into my Asus adapter. It actually would slowly drop to 67% (even from full charge) and then run from there.
Only reason I even posted this was in the rare event that someone used one of these adapters and had this problem, there is a solution. (Obviously not the normal battery problem that others are having)

Ok, this is screwed up, now it wont change past %31! And mobile meter says its not being charged. Should I return it?
I had my battery discharge until 7 percent left like 7 minutes it said. I left it chargin whith laptop turned off over night - for like 8 hours and it is charged only up o 70 %. Is that normal? How long does it take to charge it?

Lets see if I can get past my 98% charge whereafter it is a nonstop charge which never gets to 100%

Ya'll with battery problem...

Just curious...what does your power supply brand is...

"Delta Eletronics, Inc"
Model: ADP-65DB REV.B
INPUT: 100v - 240v 1.5A
OUTPUT: 19v == 3.42A

Adapter:
"DELTA ELECTRONICS, INC."
MODEL: ADP-64DB REV.B
INPUT: 100-240V ~ 1.5A
50-60 Hz
OUTPUT: 19V == 3.42A

My Z71v's serial number is 53NP045276

Are there any Americans having trouble with their batteries?

I don't have battery problems but my adapter is:
  • Delta Electronics Inc.
  • Model: SADP-65KB B
  • Input: 100-240V ~ 1.5A 50-60 Hz
  • Output: 19V 3.42A

Hmm I wonder if specific version of the adapter causing the problem?

I think its defective batteries... using my pull out and put back in method (plug) I got my battery back to ~100%, and now my wear level is 7% =(

for those who were skeptical about the battery issue only happening on units from some resellers and not others.

p.s.: my power adapter is the same type as smilepak's:
Delta Electronics ADP-65DB Rev. B
100-240v, 50-60 Hz, 1.5A
19v, 3.42A

I guess that rules out the power supply issue heheh

i have
Delta Electronics ADP-65DB Rev. B
100-240v, 50-60 Hz, 1.5A
19v, 3.42A

i have one battery that works, and one that doesn't
it's the batteries that are defective
Mine (which isn't working) doesn't say Delta anywhere on it. It says "model Z7100VP 24M" on a grey barcoded sticker though

I had a similar problem of battery can't charge beyond 90% then 70% then 60%, I had to send it in for warranty and they replaced the battery and mainboard, that is the problem with the non-stop charging and charging cannot reach 100%.

Are you saying that I have to send the whole laptop, not just the battery? !!

I htought I will send my battery and it will be replaced.. ????
Yes I had to send in the entire laptop. They already sent me a new battery replacement cause that's what we thought was wrong at first also, but the new battery started to do the same thing, well I guess since they had to replace my old AND new battery, that batch of batteries were defective as well, so MAYBE you are lucky enough to ONLY have the defective battery, so I guess you should replace that battery first then see what happens.
the battery was the only thing I had replaced. My motherboard is fine.
