I recently purchased a Seagate 100GB, 5400rpm laptop hard drive. I used Acronis True Image to transfer stuff from my old 4200rpm drive in my Gateway 7422GX...but here is the dilemma. It doesn't seem to be much faster at loading Windows than the 4200rpm drive. Am I missing something here? From all the talk on the forum, I would have thought I might have seen a significant increase in speed. I was a bit surprised that Acronis did not offer to format the new drive...but it transferred OK...I am writing this on my laptop as we speak. If anyone has any good ideas, I would sure like to hear them. Thanks.
