How can I make my laptop speakers louder?

Hey, I was trying to watch Seinfeld on my laptop yesterday as I was on a plane to New York and I could'nt hear a thing of the show even with my heasphones in and the volume all the way up. Is there any way I can get it any louder after putting the volume all the way up.

If you weren't getting any sound at all, you should check to make sure your audio isn't turned down or muted.
Go into your control panel, then Sound And Audio Devices. Click Advanced. Go to Options, Properties.
Make sure there's a check next to the following:
Volume Control, Wave, SW Synth, CD Player, Line In
Click OK. On every scroll bar, drag them to 3/4 or all the way up.
Try playing sounds or DVDs now.

If you were getting sound prior to the trip, do the above and also try another pair of headphones.
PS - make sure you're plugged into the correct jack on the laptop.

Some DivX or Xvid avi file has AC3 5.1 audio line. Then you have to have codec for them (AC3 filter or something). It really boost up the volum on 2 speaker system.

i think the OP means that he gets very low sound so he couldn't comprehend anything, not that he literally coudln't hear anything.
Anyhow, maybe you can consider an external amp?

Download ffdshow.

Make the audio filter top priority in the Info settings by setting merit to high. Check for all formats when installing. Then go to volume and set it as high as you think the speakers can handle without blowing up.

I can hear noise but it's not loud at all. I'm in my hotel now and just trying to watch a movie with silence around me Its hard to here. Is there a program I can download that will make the volume louder? Thanks.
