Ferrari 4000 Questions!

Thread Starter
I'm thinking of getting an Acer Ferrari 4000 in a couple of months time, just before I start college.

1. Does anyone know whether you'd be able to get a new battery for a Ferrari 4000 in a couple of years time? It's just that when I go to Uni, if my battery has a lower charge than it originally did, I'd like to have a fresh battery (for longer life).

2. If I'm going to keep the Ferrari 4000 plugged in, without being taken out and about for a long period of time (possibly months, or even longer, I'm not sure), are there any conditioning procedures I should follow - e.g. taking out the battery, or something? Doesn't it prevent trickle charging which degrades the battery's performance?

3. Does anyone know a suitable sleeve for putting an Acer Ferrari 4000 in so I could just lug it into my backpack?

4. Are there any other accessories I should think about getting? I'm probably going to get a Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse after what I've heard about the bundled Bluetooth one.

Thanks.

I had a custom (i.e. bright red) sleeve made for my Ferrari for something like $40 at:

It is a soft sleeve, offering I supose only minimal drop or bang protection, but good for careful carrying in luggage or a backpack. I used the same make of sleeve for my Thinkpad, traveling all over the world, and had no problems.

i think the ferrari's batt type is one that does not require conditioning and you prob won't need a new one in a few years. you might not want to trickle charge it for 6 months straight though
