For you guys that say you're running some software to throttle back the cpu when on battery power; I've got something going on here that doesn't make any sense.
A little over 2 weeks ago, my 9880 died. I shipped it back to Sager and, they replaced the mobo. Just got it back 2 days ago. When I got it back and took it out of the box, of course I couldn't wait to fire it up just to make sure that it works and, to make sure that all my hdd info was there. I didn't bother taking it downstairs and hooking up the powercord: I just fired it up on battery power.
Well...I noticed that my screen saver was slightly stuttery. Also noticed that when I ran the system info utility, it showed my cpu at 2400mhz!??! I ran mobmeter and it confirmed it as saying my cpu was running at 2.4ghz.
I have a 3.0ghz cpu.
Plugged in the power cord...everything came back to full power.
Seemed like this lappy throttled back without any help from any other program, when on battery power.
Isn't that normal on these 98XX series lappys?
