hello everyone this is my first post, i figured i would post on here and talk to some people that actually know what they are doing before i try upgrading my pc. it's a compaq presario 1200-x118 and i think it's completely stock. What i wanna do is make it run as fast as i can, i'd be willing to change out anything that i would have to, to make it as fast as a new computer just off the shelf. i have little experience with upgrading computer hardware and to make it even better i hardly ever use windows i always use apple so i might have a even harder time since im not fluent with windows. thanks.

also if you have any hardware that would be good for my intentions let me know

uh...i dunno...amd-k6(tm) 3d processor, 498 mhz, 188 mb of ram....is this what you mean?

hmm...it'll be hard to make it run "as fast as a new computer", but i guess you could try upgrading the k6 processor to whatever fastest K6 you can find that will work in your board. You can probalby get 512mb ram in that baby, which will help alot with speed. ALso upgrading to 5400 or 7200rpm HDD will make it feel alot faster.
