Mobility Video Benchmarks! - Page 2

Also, spk, could you run those benchmarks with 4XAA and then 4XAA/8X Aniso for the 80.40 Beta drivers? At all three clock speeds?
How? The freeware version of 3Dmark05 doesn't allow me to change the setting. So all of those benches are based upon the default setting of 3DMark05

Hey, its only $20... or you could always search around for alternative means.

In the ATi Control Panel you can set the AA/AF levels for all your applications. You should be able to just set 4X AA/AF and run 3D Mark. That's what I've always done.

It's not very hard to make an excel graph pretty. Look around the web for a tutorial or take one at your local community college. I've been using excel since high school and high still use it in college it's part of my physics curriculum.

True, I forgot about that. There is application setting vs override setting. I'll see if I could run a few test tomorrow.

Man you should look in the Sager forum. The person who got the Sager 3880 was able to get close to 3000 on the Nvidia 6600 in 3DMark05!

Also here are the data you wanted

Thanks a bunch! But since you don't see them updated, you must be wondering why, right? I'm actually making a database! I figured, what would be easier? Me having to manually update the graphs everytime, or having a script that can provide it a bit more dynamically? Eh? 8) No ETA, but I've setup the database and _manually_ entered the results. I figure it'll grow as it does... ;D

it all just depends on the clockspeed. the people have said that the x700 is a bit more powerful than the go 6600, but the 6600 on the sager 3880 can be clocked WAY higher than the x700 on the z71v.the ferrari 4000's x700 is probably clocked higher than the z71v as well.

my friend has a 15.4 inch screen with WUXGA. it looks small to me, but he loves it

That's quite wrong. Just look at the benchmarks; the X700 is easily faster than the 6600 both in specs and practice. Even at minimal overclocking (The X700 is underclocked at 350/350 in the Travelmate 8100) to 420/400 yields much better results in 3DMark05.

You haven't see the Sager 3880 nvidia 6600 then. Someone got theirs close to 3000 on 3DMark05 easy. ..

Yeah, but look at the MX700 that Jfergara posted. 350/350 to 420/400 (a very minimal overclock) yields almost 2900 on the X700--and I'm sure you can overclock it even more. Again, the difference isn't that great, but the X700 still nudges out the 6600...

The X700 and 6600 are fairly similar in performance when in a similar chassis. The Z71v's 6600 is pretty sad. The 6600 gets a lot more out of overclocking than the X700, as well.

If I go crazy this week, I might be able to promise a 3000 on 3dmark05.

(Crazy as in buying another stick of DDR2 module to match my 1 gig and tweaking the computer for a couple of hours setting up the laptop maximum performance. Also I might have to prepare some sacrificial bannana's for the 3000 3dmark05 trek. No promises though I'm kinda busy...)

Hey all, I got an x700 lappy just recently, and thought I would share my results after my first try at OCing / benching it

2952 marks, with a Toshiba M70-144 (x700 256MB @ 400/364 - P-M 1.733)

Here is my compare: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1562132

My new Sager 5720 (1920x1200), gave me 6673 points on 3DMARK2005.

Is this good ? (Not kidding...I am new testing GPUs... )

Mine is a Sager 5720 Geforce 7800GTX 256 Video RAM, 1GB RAM, WUXGA 1920x1200 Screen. (a VERY good machine !!!!) I am so happy with it.

BTW : This is my first message on this forum. I am searching other Sager Users to talk about it.
Good to be here.

Remember guys not all x700's are made equal.

The ones on the Z70Va's seem to clock the lowest, while the sager's modular x700 with 256mb vram and Acer's x700's seem to clock higest.

Too bad for us Asus owners
my x300 128M can even reach 1802 on 3dmark05

are you sure x700 only in 2000-ish region ?
