Speedfan Monitor program / Temperature monitoring

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I have a Toshiba p10-ee1. I downloaded speedfan to monitor heat. It shows my harddrive, but not the cpu temp. On speedfan's site, it says this function is available with a device download to support cpu/remote temperature monitoring. Where can I get this? OR, what program can I use to monitor cpu temperature via system tray. Thanks.

I think Toshiba doesnt support it, myabe i am wrong, actually it's a first programm (speedfan) i downloaded for monitoring.

So what do yous see under speedfan>configure?

It is usually the "external..." that is the right one.

Hi,

In my 5205-s119 it works fine.

Apparently this is a common issue with Toshiba laptops. Someone on the notebookreview forum discovered that a utility called HWiNFO32 will pick up the CPU sensor. I just tried it with my M100 and it worked! Unfortunately the program is pretty limited and doesn't seem to have features like displaying the temp in the tray. It would be nice if someone found a more fully featured program that could detect the cpu temperature. I have tried Everest and NotebookHardwareControl with no luck.

It was me nevertheless there is something inside this laptop that enables this software (HWiNFO32) to read this temperature, but why the hell any other software (more common) doesn't ?

I'm about to test out Sandra 2007 on it.

So can any of you change Fan Speeds?
changing fan speeds on notebooks is not recommended.
The best program that shows both hard drive and cpu temperatures was Aida32,
now its known as EVEREST Free Edition 2.20 - you can download it here:

HTML Code:

Under Computer - Sensor section.
This is the BEST Computer Diagnostics and Information Program.
Try it - its free!

I am pretty sure I also tried HWiNFO32, tried Everest and a few others but none of them picked up CPU temp on the Toshiba P30. The only one that I have found is Hmonitor but it expires, not a free program.

Anyone see the CPU temp on the P30? This is rediculous.

I gave up trying to find something that works. The only one was HWiNFO32.
yeah, same here. sucks.

I wished HWiNFO32 works for the P30. You are both right, this blows. At least you two can see CPU temp.

M4ciek who posted earlier has told me that Everest Ultimate 2006 3.00.626 or newer will display the M100's cpu temp in the task tray. I haven't tried it but I will soon. Hope it works for you guys too.

Just installed Everest Ultimate 2006 3.00.626, it recognizes CPU speed, cache levels etc... no temp. Anyone bites the dust for the Toshiba P30. The only temp that it will display (in or out of hte systray) is the HDD temp. Hope this can help someone.

Do a google search for Notebook Hardware Control. Depending upon the number of sensors installed in your computer, it should give you those readings. I dont think there are too many built in sensors in the Satellite models.

hey Saugen. I have tried NC before. Still no go. It's odd. Only 1 non-free detection software found the P30's CPU temp. The rest either find nothing or just the CPU frequency and usage. So the sensor is there. Just not many programs can detect it.

Noticed Toshiba fixed something in this area and all the newer models show CPU temps. Guess there were enough complaints that came through, given all the issues with overheating and users needing to check core temps.
