Notebook Sleeve for 14.1" t4x?

Awaiting my 14.1" t43, and I need a minimalist notebook sleeve for it while I carry it in my backpack. It can't add a lot of thickness or bulk, so the thinner and tighter fit the better. It will be mostly for scratch and bump protection.

I have a body glove one for my 15" dell, and it is exactly what I am looking for, but I imagine it will be too big for the t43.

When looking around, all I could find were 15" sleeves, which I suppose could work, but I don't want any extra space in there. Does anyone have any suggestions?

here are two links to great laptop cases. Both sites have great search utilites to find the perfect case for you laptop. They also have IPOD cases.

http://www.sfbags.com/index.htm
http://www.booqbags.com/index.html

This site has a laptop wizard that helps you find all their accessories that match your notebook. Here is an example for an IBM T43 14" model

I am having a hard time deciding which kind to get.
If you have a hard time finding a specific one, just ask me and I will see what I can do.

Thanks for the links.
Right now I'm looking at:

Viper XM - looks nice, and adds the most protection; however, i'm afraid it might be too thick and bulky to put in my backpack.

Waterfield Sleevecase - looks great. I especially like how I can get it to open vertically, which is perfect for backpack use. Only problem is that (with the flap, which i need) it's $55. Ouch.

black Timbuk2 sleeve - looks good, although i'm not sure which size to get. the small looks too small, and the medium looks like it will have extra room, which i don't want.

Shinza sleeve - they don't have a 14" one, but say to get the 15" sleeve for them. These are supposed to be great, and will offer more protection than the others without adding too much bulk, it seems (if they do, someone please let me know). Biggest problem is I don't want it to be too big.

Anyone have input on any of these? Right now I'm not sure which to get.

Really like this one. Stick it in my backpack or pack and carry it around. Looks really nice and looks to have some protection.

This looks really cool also, doesn't look as think which for me would be nice, but I am almost a little concerned that I might break the noteobook. The bag just looks like a sheet with no padding.

last two I'm not so sure about. I guess you would have to email the last guy and ask if it would fit a 14" notebook.

You couldn't be more incorrect. Do you own one? Because it definately has padding - moreso and tougher designed than the zeroshock that I had. Laptop might break? Ranger, understand Im not intending on offense, but maybe you should purchase one at no obligation, then return it if you don't like it - because your take on them is one purely from an online standpoint, which is understandable but it may give others the wrong impression, which is the case here. I have a Waterfield and Ive owned a handful of bags/sleeves, Waterfield is the toughest, sleekest, and most durable Ive come across. There's a reason it's high priced - same reason for the thinkpads - high quality.

EDIT: You're not going find a perfectly made sleeve for your specific thinkpad other than the Waterfield. Waterfield's are custom made with an assortment of sizes for your thinkpad. Booq's, Shinza, and Waterfield are the top three IMO and the former two don't have exact fits for the thinkpad. There's also a reason the Waterfields install a loop on the end of their product - because the fit is so snug that you need assistance in pulling your laptop out.

i personally would not recommend the Booq Viper, i was lucky enough to see one in a store before i bought it, and its horribly cheap, it simply feels like its line with cardboard and is far too rigid and stiff to offer any kind of protection, the waterfiled sleeves are quite nice, my father had one for his powerbook and a friend of mine has one for his X40, they are however quite expensive. I picked up a Spire Endo (www.spireusa.com) for $80, it is an extremely well made messenger bag that came with a size medium sleeve that fits my 14" T42 perfectly, it offers quite a bit of protection while remaining small in size. You can pick up the sleeve seperatly from the bags for $30.

I just received the Booq Viper XM for my new T43 and I agree with Skywing that while the exterior is very durable with tough stiches made by ballistic nylons, its padding was suprisingly thin. it does feel somewhat like a card board. But when I press it hard enough, it does flex to feel like it's some kinda memory foam. i am bit worried that this thin padding won't protect my t43 well. But then...do I just have too much of an expectation from a sleeve? I've looked at some others though not the ones that are mentioned above, and they are all pretty thin..so I am thinking if this is just how sleeves are?

In your case Daniel, I would suggest looking at more than just one sleeve to get an idea of what's out there. Knowing only one, is.. well politely speaking, ignorant - towards yourself.

No, that's not how they all are. See my above - try others before settling, much as you do with that one laptop you know is for you.

Any advice for a fellow who received his T43p with the larger battery and larger computer size? A shoulder strap is preferred.

read my post again, i said I looked at others. your enthusiasm about laptop sleeve is understandable. However, let's not pass on a judgement based on incorrect understanding. Doing that is...well politely speaking, being obtuse and idiotic - towards yourself and other fellow posters in the forum.

Are you alright? One can only go by your statement.
which part of the sentence do you not understand?
I looked at multiple sleeves from stores such as compusa or microcenter but not the ones that are mentioned above.

Your response for me was to look at more than one sleeve to get an idea what's out there.....do you not see the word "multiple" in my sentence?

hmm, you post - then change it to a more inflamatory post.. your responses indicate troll like behavior. Keep it up.
