Thanks, I'll be sure to. What ever happened to orders skipping 2+ phases in one day?

Maybe with my new job I'll be too busy to dwell on the order status page.

Eh, I don't want to be the whiney and impatient newcomer, but I'm getting super anxious about my order. It's been on Phase 4 for 2 days, which seems like a long time for that stage. Especially since many people skip over 4, 5, 6, etc within the day. If there is a backorder, I can understand the holdup, but then again Phase 4 is only checking to make sure that my configuration doesn't have conflicting drivers or hardware. So, does it take over 2 days to flip through my order and see that nothing there will conflict? All I'm trying to say is that if it takes 2+ days to go from phase to phase, that easily adds up to 28 days to build, not including shipping. Most holdups are around Phase 9 and 12, but I'm getting them right from the start. After all, it was supposed to ship on Monday the 18th. I'm hoping after this stage it will pick up to a normal or hopefully faster pace. Anyone else have problems in the beginning?

hmmm...can't have anyone going crazy here in the Alienware Phase forum... How about you send a message to Alienware-Steve to check on things. The message I sent to Juan hasnt been confirmed, I may have run into a forum glitch and it got lost. I can resend but...I'll be nice and leave you and easy to use link. just send Alienware-Steve your account info and a little summary about your order stages. Hope it eases your crazy-ness.

So today marks 2 full weeks since I placed the order. And to date, I'm only on phase 5 still. Two weeks and still no system being built? I think what's bothering me most is that the status is creeping step-by-step and each step spans around 4 days. As I've said before, at that rate I'll be in college and won't have the laptop in yet. And it looks like the only reason it was bumped up to phase 5 was because Juan changed the status on Sunday. I mean, I know they wouldn't be around on Sunday building the computers, so I'm guessing it was only updated to get progress going. I'm about a week overdue from the quoted ship date, and haven't been notified of any backorders or issues with the order.

So tomorrow will mark week number three. Still no system even being assembled. Last I saw, I creeped up to Phase 6 a few days ago. My current calculation is that if it takes 3-4 days per phase, and there are 8 phases left to go, I should have a ship date of August 25. That makes well over a month and a half from order confirmation. Now I ask you, is this really fair? Every single person I've seen lately has been moved along within 2 weeks or less. The only exception has been those buying internationally. Problems do arise from time to time, but if there is one, I'm not being notified. There is no way I can wait much longer, as I'm going to college. I can't accept a ship date of August 25 (my estimate didn't take weekends into account, either). Backorders are said to not impede the progress of the order. I just want some kind of information. I've called Alienware, and all they can tell me is the phase I'm on and how long I've been on that phase. I think I keep a pretty good log of that myself, so it does nothing to help. Juan hasn't gotten back to me, either. I'm just really about to lose it at this point.

One month. System has not even been assembled as of yet. It's now in the queue, but has been sitting there for over 4 days. The backorder must have passed, so now it's the usual waiting game.

I'm right there with ya man. I placed my order on 7/22. I've been in phase 9 for 2 weeks.

I understand the need for making sure that everything goes together properly and that everything benchmarks well, what I don't understand is patience.

I'm REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLYYYYYYY excited to get this computer, and I check the order status about 67 times a day, Whether I'm working or not.

I've got the phase 9 blues.

I'm not mad that it's taking so long, I'm mad that it's not even built yet, according to the website. It shouldn't take a month to inspect materials, since the backorder was only maybe a week long.

Been in the Assembly Queue for over 8 days at this point. According to AW, all backorders are done with and it's literally just sitting in a line waiting to be built. This is getting to be an issue since school begins in just over a week. No computer will mean major problems as I'm a Computer Science major. I've tried my best to be patient and held back from posing so often on here. No one will tell me what the problem is. I call, and I'm told that it's waiting to be built. Even once it crawls to phase 9, it will take over a week to ship according to AW history, and even longer to arrive by FedEx.
