Intel has announced they will drop prices on Pentium M's starting July 24??

What does everyone think about the idea that Dell might lower prices as well???

Do you think Dell's prices will drop by the same margins as Intel claims per processor???

I think its up to 35% in price drops for the 760 M processor....
30% drop in cost of 750

I forget the article but it published the supposed cost drops by processor number.....

Chime in on what you all think.... Im hoping to buy a Inspiron 6000D sometime soon and am wondering if I should wait and see if I can save at least $50-$100 bucks on processor/overall costs...............

Of course... I'd rather buy right at the moment when I can get the max discount with coupons and EPP stuff but maybe "Dell can help save a lil on costs???

Not likely... but hopeful....

Can you get some sort of rebate if you order a latop and within a certain amount of time after ordering they lower prices on something you ordered?

they will pricematch, but if you used a coupon to purchase your laptop, they won't. This is what the CS rep told me when i tried to pricematch....thus, i ended up returning and re-purchasing.

I believe the policy is that if the price changes by more than $50, not due to a coupon or a promotion, they will match the price. However, if it is due to a coupon or a current promotion, they will not. It never hurts to call and ask.

Anyway, if you do wait, I'd say the end of July is the latest you should wait unless you can wait until September. In August, companies raise prices due to back-to-school.
