Right -
I've trolled these forums, looking for some responses to finally push me over the edge one way or another, but so far I havent found it -
I'm torn between a 700M and an Inspiron 6000 - I currently have a T20.
Right now I use the Thinkpad when I want to relax on my bed, or in class, or just sit outside and surf the interweb -
But I also use it to watch DVD's and movies at work. A coworker has the 700M and I swear to god I couldnt believe how light the thing was. . .and it didnt seem THAT small honestly. . .but I'm trying to remember how large the screen was and if it would be conducive to watching movies. Of course most portable DVD players have screens of a comporable size and its really not that large of a deal to me honestly as the portability would more than make up for that (and really I dont need a large screen annoucing to the world that I'm watching ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT at work).
The 6000 interests me though because its obviously cheaper (I can get one for 675 flat), and looks like it has more upward mobility capability. Larger screen of course, but again thats not really what I'm going for.
I can get the 700M for 750 (maybe 700 if someone gets back to me) new in box, and the 6000 for about 50-75 bucks less. I'm used to lugging the Thinkpad around, but I wouldnt mind going lighter and being able to have my lap with me at all times (never know when boredom will strike) or get inspired to write something.
Im really leaning towards the 700M as right now unless the weight difference between the 700M and the 6000 isnt that much - then I might go for the 6000.
Lemme know anyone that has - or has handled - both.
