I recently got an s-video cord for my m680... It hooks up fine to the tv... i can see the desktop and browse the web etc... but when I try to play a video all I get is black. I've tried playing clips in windows media and a dvd with powerdvd and still the same black on the tv while it plays fine on the laptop... anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Uninstall PowerDVD and download the trial version of WinDVD and see if that works.

i don't see why that would make a difference since windows media doesn't work either for just regular avi files

Your using Windows XP Home SP2 I guess. What video drivers are you using?

Most DVD or Video player programs use overlay mode to display video. The S-Video out can't 'see' overlay mode. You need to turn off video acceleration or overlay mode in your DVD software to send it out the video port.
