I'm going to a university in the fall, and my school is offereing an IBM Thinkpad T43 with the following specs:
Pentium M 760 (2.0GHz)
512 MB DDR2 SDRAM 533Mhz (1 DIMM)
80GB 5400 RPM HD
64MB ATI Radeon X300
24X CDRW/DVD
14.1" SXGA Display
Gigabit Ethernet, Intel PRO Wireless a/b/g
6 Cell Battery
3 Year Carry-In Warranty w/ 3 Year Thinkpad Protection
Price: $1999
Graphics intensive gaming will not be a priority *at all* on this laptop. This laptop is primarily for word processing, surfing the net, the occasional photoshop.
I have not had any experience with IBM or their products, but everyone seems to have glowing reviews and great things to say about their products, and customer service. One of the reasons I find this extremely appealing is because my university's IT and tech store is certified to provide support service for Apple, IBM, and Dell Laptops. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
