This is the first benchmark, using the default drivers from AW.
That is nice and all but it doesn't mean much unless you state the specs.

Indeed your correct, I must have cut as pasted the wrong thing in, but anyway here it is:

P4 3.0
512MB
16.1
Nvidia
60GB HDD
XP Pro

Now all we need to do is compare your system with an exact duplicate (which will be mine) except with the ATI 9600 card (also mine) to see how much of a difference, if any, the 9600 makes. As soon as I get my system (if ever), I'll run tests and compare it with what you got.

Word on the Alienware forums is the ATI card only scored 200 more points in 3dmark03. I don't what drivers they are using though....
Well....My New Dell I8600 scored a 26**.

15.4 WSXGA+
1.7 Pentium M
512MB DDR 333MHZ
60GB 7200 RPM HD

Well, only 200 more points? That would kind of be disappointing considering how all comparisons between the ATI 9600 and Nvidia 5600 show the ATI card handing the 5600 it's lunch. Like you said--who knows what drivers they are using!
Im sorry, but PLEASE, do nut use 3D mark as the end all in performance. In GAMES, not synthetic tests, the 9600 DOES crush the 5600 (hell, even the 5900 at times)..

What would you have us use?
Any game you play..

To see the real weakness though, pull out some DX9 games. Tomb Raider, etc.

I have not personally had any DX9 issues, just like their site states, Nvidia has "full DX9 support," runs like a top for me.
Rofl..... its nice to see people still belive what NV says.. lol

yes, it does support DX9. They dont tell you that it must run it in DX8 mixed-mode to have ANy speed at all...

BUT, i have no room to speak... god damn 5900U POS...

Anyway, glad the laptop works for YOU (since thats all that matters in the end... )

No speed issues for me, guess I must not notice them.

What happened?
Other than it sucking, nothing. But then again, any DX9 card that cant actually run any DX9 program (FPS wise) should be shot anyway...
I never thought I would completely agree with Divine_Madcat...but please 3dmark is not a gauge of anything...Listen to Divine...he speaks the wisdom we need to hear...please judge your sys with in game performance and stop spending so much time wondering about this number and that number. it comes down to the simple question are you happy with the performance of your system?

Okay, why are you posting here? You own a Sager, and we are comparing AW scores here. There's a whole other section for you.

Just popping in. I figured I would post what the ATI is doing. Considering thats pretty much the only difference, thats what I would expect a 51 to do with the same GPU. In case anyone was wondering...Looks like my post was deleted anyway
