Laptop
I was really afraid to touch this laptop because of the paint job...it is simply fantastic...but after my initial drooling I dove right in. Xp Pro and office 2003 went on very smooth and quick close to an hour for both to be installed. Only one thing I am not sure of, when the laptop is on and sitting it makes a faint but really high pitch noise. I am thinking it could be the Hard Drive but I am not certain. I figured I would let it run for a week if its still making that sound then I will call. (Before you say anything no it is not just when I make a keystroke or move the mouse, it is constant and that to my knowledge is not normal. But I could be wrong)

Games
Star Wars Galaxies, EQ2, HalfLife2, Counter Strike.
All went on smooth and run great, keep in mind I am not turning these games up full throttle but I aint leaving them at the bottom either. Really no hiccups and load times for zones is minimal.

Service
Allison was great along with everyone else no complaints.

Power
I let the laptop run without touching on a full battery for close to 5 hours.
I then recharged and used it for a lttle over three hours just listening to Itunes and writing word documents. Recharged again and played games for under 2 hours, so I would have to say thats pretty darn good.

DVD
To be honest this thing is super quiet, but I have trouble playing some DVD's but that is just a format thing on the disc...example Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon will not play but Snatch will. I can live with that because thats not a hypersonic thing that is a DVD format thing. Newer movies should play fine though I would think.

All around I know this was a great purchase. Great Job Hypersonic!!!
Will send more Pics in a few.

Good job. Great to hear that you have been happy so far. I know the feeling about the paint job. Did your's come with the cloth covering (pillow case style)? I use that all the time when I am moving it from one place to another.

Where does the sound seem to be coming from? Just wondering if it is a fan.

Again, good job and congrats!

Hey BabaGanoosH, did you ever take any pics? I'm pretty interested in buying this notebook in the black sapphire, but would like to see how your paint job looks on it. Are you still enjoying the Mx6? And does anyone know if Hypersonic plans on puting a diff. gpu in these soon? Just wondering how current the 6600 go is...thanks for any help you guys could give

peace

I've got a mx6 turbo and absolutely love it. Hypersonic won't make any claims as to it's compatibility with linux, but I've tested both fedora 4 and redhat 9 on my mx6 turbo without any problems. Only thing that wouldn't work for me in either installation was the wireless network card. Everything else was supported using a default installation. I also took the liberty of removing the lid from my laptop to get custom graphics airbrushed. There's really nothing to it, and if you use a good airbrush artist, you still wont be looking at any more than $100 for a custom paintjob. Hypersonic's a little outrageous for custom graphics on their laptops.

Maybe the case, but you could easily forfeit the warranty by disassembling the machine and painting yourself.

In any case, it is great to see you are enjoying the machine.

edit-sorry guys my bad the ad was misleading, its 2 5400rpm 160gb hdds. i guess it was just a lie i checked website and it is just a 320gb raid w/ 2 5400rpm drives.

The FX7 kind of looks like it could hold a full size hard drive though.

The Acer Aspire 1700/1710 series were the only notebooks to ever hold a desktop hard disk drive. It was a very nice, but huge machine that used a standard 17" SXGA 1280x1024 desktop LCD. It was neat having a 400GB Hitachi DeskStar installed at the time.

Pat is giving a hint. Hey works at Hyper. Makes you think maybe they tried putting in a full sized HD and it worked.
