this thread may be really really funny but we really should make this thread be gone before it becomes a flame war....

I find it somewhat amusing that as soon as something negative to Dell is posted in this area of the forum the Dell trolls crawl out of the cracks but when AW is ripped in the Dell area, which is almost on a regular basis, none of the AW guys waste their time to answer in that forum....

Anticitizen 2....you may think Dell builds a better laptop but after two Dell laptop disasters, I now own a AW 7700 and I do not think Dell sells anything that compares to the AW mobile desktop but it is all in what you want, how much you are willing to spend....the Dell home division is horrible, I have no experience with the business division but I admit I have read good things about it

Here is the problem. It is one thing to play brand vs. brand. My brand is better than your brand has been going on long before we were here and will be here after we leave. Having devotion to a certain brand is a good thing. Whether it is computers, motorcycles, cars etc. Where it starts to go south is when people bring personal insults into it. Telling someone they are "nerds", "get a life and a gf" or giving insulting rep just makes yourself and any relevant point you make look stupid.
This thread was created to show how one company (Dell) feels that by shutting down their forums, they can circumvent some of the negative reputation they are getting. It is their company, they can do as they wish. However doing so, it only hurts their reputation further. But let us not forget that in the Alienware tech support section you must have your post reviewed by a mod before it is even posted. Hardly much better.
So argue brand vs. brand all you want. I know what is on my desk, I know what will be on my desk after that.

i agree, it will happen long after we are gone and will never really stop. i try to keep things civil and most of the time i end up getting a laugh out of the mines better than your's threads... they are usually pretty funny once you take a step back. im not giving the guy negative rep over it just think it is a pretty noob/troll way to be acting and really all this is was an industry news story like you said.

heres hoping that people can realize that they are both computers and both have thier positives and negatives. until that day though i will continue to laugh when i see those threads and posts desgined to start a flame war where the poster goes out of his way to get people to respond.

as has been said. i know what is on my desk and what will be there after this one is gone.

lol, the xps with the 9800 did not outperform the AW laptops with 9700's by any stretch of the imagination.

It is true that Dell got an exclusive with the 6800 Ultra, but you still end up with a crap computer with a 6800 Ultra. Kinda like a blown Hemi in a Yugo.

AW has the ultra now, and the performance of the ultra in a real computer is staggering. And their screens aren't crap, nor is the mobo Alienware uses crippled.

Just go to the Dell forums, they're handing out positive rep points to each other like replacement screens to XPS customers...

Seems rep on an internet forum is only important to Dellheads.
