What should I do?

Just recieved my i9300, and while it was in the build stage, I reconfigured my cart and saw that I could get the 6800Go video card for just 3 dollars or so more, I contacted them about it, but when they replied it already shipped with the 128MB X300. I was like, "Ok, that's fine. At least it would be here soon." Now I get another email saying that they would take the laptop back or would credit me $150.00. Everything is perfect about my 9300, screen is beautiful, and I love it. Should I part with it to get 6800, or should I just be fine with what I got? (very little light leakage, screen in perfect condition)

Well according to your sig, you seem like a gamer.. although your actions prove otherwise. 6800go is a must over your card if you want to game todays games very nicely and have some padding for the future. Get the 6800go if its 3 dollars more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would definately make the upgrade to the Nvidia 6800 Go.

Will dell make me ship back the laptop, or would they send UPS to pick it up?

Ok, but then I'll have the chance of getting a bad LCD screen with tons of light leakage and I'll have to bare with not having a laptop for awhile too. But I guess it's for the better.

If you send it back, you will be getting the luck of the draw. You just have to determine if a perfect screen is worth it. The upgrade to the 6800go is great for a gamer. If you get a bad screen, you will have to just play the replacement game. You will not have to miss it for 2 weeks, if you replace it yourself when Dell sends a replacement screen.

Couldn't you just have them send you a 6800 video card and swap it out with your current one instead of sending the whole thing back? Tell them to keep the $150 credit and just make it an even swap.

I figured the same thing. Then, I thought about the cost of the upgrade. I was afraid the 150.00 credit would not cover it. I have not priced it. It would have been easy to do with the original order.

Send it back while you are within the 21 day return period.Reorder one with the 6800. If you game you will not be happy with the performence of the X300 at all. It is a verry poor card for gaming and furthermore it was not designed for gaming and in my opinion isnt much better then intergraed graphics.Chances are with the display you will get another good one if you dont then adress that issue and get it replaced if need be.If you keep wasteing time you will exceed your 21 day returne period and be stuck with a card that isnt worth the powder to blow it up and you wont be gaming .

They do not change the LCD to exchange the video card. They will create a ticket for you and a dispatch number and send you a box with a prepaid label on to so you can send it in for the service swap, it should take all but 8 days or so.

Why would there have to be a screen change for a GPU switch? Is there something I'm missing here?
