Keyboard and mouse stopped working on Satellite 1800

Is it possible that there is a keyboard locking feature on this laptop? and how can I re-enable it? I've searched through the entire manuel and could'nt find any information on this.

Just so you know. The keyboard works at the BIOS screen but anything past that it doesn't respond. Windows XP, Windows 2000, Linux and DOS no response at all. So it is not a OS issue. And it's not an option that can be changed in the bios either.

The Fn key doesn't work as well.

Thanks in advance

Boot sector virus?

I assum you mean the build-in KB. Does external work?

Try booting from a CD.

An external keyboard or mouse do not work at all. My linux is a bootable CD and it doesnt work either.

Very strange. One more idea: What if you reboot after the machine has been on a while? If the KB still works in the BIOS, I go back to boot sector virus. If it doesn't, I would guess a heat related problem - crack in cable or motherboard.
