Hypersonic AX7

This is a call for help on the AX7. Does anyone have one? I am a bit of a novice and right now I am going on advice from people in my office and I am not so sure its reliable. So far the only serious gripe I have heard is about their shipping. So if anyone out there has any good advice for me I would love to hear it.

I can't talk for the AX7, but I can tell you that my dealings with Hypersonic has been very good, both on sales and support. I have dealt with customer support, sales and technical support and I don't have anything bad to say at all.

You are correct though on the shipping. A friend of mine just purchased EX7 at the end of June and one of the first things I told him was don't get upset with shipping delays - as it happens. Be prepared up front. If the shipping speeds up, hey great. But if it goes as normal, atleast you are prepared. He went with custom paint as well, so I told him it should be about five weeks (we are APO - military mail customers).

Wish you the best and I am sure you will be happy with your system.

Shipping really isn't bad. Especially if ordering a custom paint job. I don't have the AX7 but I am sure they are relatively the same time frame. Mine was pretty much right on time. I say go for it, and watch everyone in your office drool!

Ah... Sunny Ft. Hood. I was looking at relocating there, but I haven't been lucky with recruiting.

I am with 69th Signal Battalion - I'm the Chief of a Network Operations and Security Center. Department of the Army Civilian. My friend (actually two of them) are with a MEDCOM unit over here.

Going to be interesting to do a gaming party at the house and everyone there is gaming on a Hypersonic (EX7 and GX7).

Ratmyr,
So would you recommend a pentium chip or an AMD chip for gaming? I am somewhat concerned that the 128 graphics card won't handle games as well as I want.

You would ask me a hard question like that. To me, it doesn't matter. I have used both in desktops and I see very little difference. Yes, benchmarks can show some margins of which is the better chip, but when I am gaming, I don't notice the difference. And this is with FPS as well as RPG games. It matters more to me at which one is in the most powerful system at the time I am buying. If the AMD had the same equivalent system out when I bought the EX7, I may have gone the AMD route as I do see good reviews with them. However, I am not set on either one. Someone else may be better to answer this question for you.

Graphics on the other hand does matter to me. The more memory I can nail into a card, the happier I am. Since a lot of games are coming out with max requirements or suggested recommendations of 128mb... then I need more than that. I would definitely go with a 256mb version.

Don't get me wrong, games will play with the 128mb, but if they are already being released now using that much, how long before you will need more? And does that coincide with the replacement of your laptop. For me, I just happened to get two in a row, but that is a rare case. My last one was three years in between. This one here will be about the same. Need to pimp my ride now, not my lappie.

Hope this helps.
