4880 Firefox Scrolling Problem

I've seen a few posts about other touchpads not being able to scroll in firefox when using the middle button or right hand scroll, but I haven't seen any for the 4880. Other laptops solutions were to download the latest or previous Synaptic drivers for their touchpad, however this touchpad uses the Elantech driver. Would it be wise to download a Synaptic driver for the touchpad? Are they compatible?

I just received my 4880 today, but I still went to the sager website and downloaded the latest Elantech driver for the touchpad. Still firefox scrolling hasn't worked. I've changed many options in firefox including installing the "All in one Gesters" extention that is supposed to add features to scrolling. Still no luck. Has anyone heard of or had this problem? Thanks!

I'm having a similar problem with my 4880. I've search around but haven't found a solution. I really hope somebody knows how to fix this.

My middle button is "working" now. I installed a couple of different versions of Synaptic drivers, after reading that older Synaptics drivers may work. Mind you, I shouldn't have to install different drivers on a one day old computer. I've also emailed the tech support posted above and still haven't gotten a response.

Anyway, when closing the mouse properties on the control panel, an error would be thrown in windows, but the right portion of the touchpad was scrolling in all apps, including firefox. However the middle button, still wasn't working.

I eventually downloaded and installed the original touchpad driver from sagernotebooks.com because I was wary about the errors. Today, I changed the MouseProperties -> Buttons -> RockSwitch setup seetings to Page Scroll. To my surprise, scrolling in Firefox started to work, and kept working in all other apps. So my guess is that Firefox isn’t listening to scrolling events when they should. The page scroll may not be exactly what you want because it does move a full page each push, but at least the pages are moving vertically.
