640mb ddr3 doesn't mean it is necessary faster..
but looks interesting
i've seen wildcat cards before.. i think they are like quadro

Cards like that aren't for gaming, I don't think. I think those are designed more for CAD and stuff. Would be interesting to try one, a bit expensive though.

Interesting to try, but a bit pricy

I checked out the details .It seems to be a 512bit GPU against the normal 256bit that nvidia and ati have. I believe though they are not meant for gaming they will outperform the 512mb nvidia sli's

I doubt many games have support for those cards and therefore gaming performance would be much worse than much cheaper ATi/nVidia cards. However for 3D word, CAD and the like, they're pretty competitive. I mean you take a 6800Ultra and turn it into a Quadro and all of a sudden it's like a $2000 card too...

Its a "professional" card, so I would guess that its not really optimized for gaming performance.

It might do ok - but its meant for other things. 3840 x 2400 resolution is pretty impressive though - I think you'd need a 36"+ screen to run that without hurting your eyes.

The day is coming when a card like that will be gaming optimized

It has crap performance in game. It's meant for working with 3d apps, and it's damned good at what it does. Beats the Quatro/FireGL.

BUt it still is the most powerful. I believe a few modded drivers is all that will be needed to make it work for games.BUt for me a 512mb nvidia sli 7800gtx is too much to handle. I will be satisfied with that.

Define more powerful? The 7800 GTX can push far more pixels, I'm sure.

This won't perform that well in games at all; the 7800 will probably beat it with games performance, but will obviously lose in rendering. You have to remember, its not built for fast rendering like a gaming card.

I am not into tech stuff too much but all the specs are higher than nvidia 7800 i believe.

let's make something clear, that is super-important to remember in th tech world: higher numbers != better performance, necessarily. things are built for different purposes. for example, even though the FX-55 is clocked at 2.6, it performs better than any Pentium4, even the ones clocked 1.2 GHz higher in games.

there are many other factors that are at issue. the 7800 GTX would almost certainly beat the card in question in gaming.

It's NOT the most powerful. The nVidia quatro beats it quite a bit.

It's the "value" model. It's cheap for its performance in the workstation sector.
