Question for current 9750 owners or 9750 tracking owners. Did you get a phone call from PCtorque to confirm your order ?
My status at PCtorque is the same since the 14th December. Building... and Pending Confirmation. At on the same day, so I'm not sure what the status is.

Regards

That email was supposed to be changed >_< it appears it never was. The new email should state that we will contact you by phone if we need to verify anything additional on your order otherwise it will start building with-in 24 hours unless on a weekend/holiday ect ect. Gonna have to beat the web monkeys again.

Thanks Luke & Shaun for the confirmation.

Will we see a graphic for the 9750 on the main page to show how well it sells ?

I've been using my G5 while my notebook is being built, and I can't say I miss Windows XP very much. I miss my games though...

The wait for the pre-order was long, but the wait for the shipment seems even longer.

Luke, what's the memory module used in 9750? brand, latency etc. I only know that its DDR PC3200

Also, normally it is said that RAM modules have to be exactly same if they have to work in dual channel mode? How true is this? I am asking this because say someone buys 1GB(single stick) along with laptop from PCT, does that mean if one has to upgrade to 2GB, then they have to buy the new 1GB module from PCT itself?

Thanks

hey luke/wiley...can someone finish off the PCT 9750 review...the battery life section is still marked as "comming soon". Also, any developments on the bf2 issue ?

Using CPU-Z, I got that the memory is Apacer, and its timings are:
  • CAS# Latency: 2.0, 2.5, 3.0
  • RAS to CAS: 3, 3, 4
  • RAS Precharge: 3, 3, 4
  • TRas: 6, 7, 8

I also have dual channel enabled.

P.S.: Bump on the BF2 problems...

Well, my order is still as Building on the PCtorque website, but my Sager 9750 is standing in it's box right next to me... :-)

Can you please try and set the affinity(to cpu 0- or 1, whichever the first one is) and see if that clears up the problem in bf2?

I tried setting the affinity to only one core, but the problem persists (the game crashes at startup, so it's hard to even set the affinity, and 3rd-party programs for affinity don't help either). I even downloaded the Windows "Hotfix", but that only slowed my computer down so I had to do a system restore. Hopefully Sager will release some updated drivers soon, as well as BF2.

On an unrelated topic, if you would want to add another DVD burner to your laptop that isn't the same as the one you currently have, would you have to buy the master or slave variant for it? I'm thinking about getting a Lightscribe drive...

Thanks JWolves for answering one of my questions. What's the factory default - 3-4-4-8, I am guessing

But who can answer my second question ?

*Upgrading*

I was told by some usually reliable sources that the CPU was soldiered into the systems and cant be upgraded later without sending the system back. Is this true? I would like to order my system with a a64 single core for now, but upgrade to dual core when they drop in price a bit more. Thanks!

PC Torque

Hello, Luke, do you have an estimated ETA on the 7200 SATA drives? I was also wondering how long does it usually take to build and deliver a system (One day shipping). I plan to purchase a maxed out system from you. Thank you ahead of time.

Woot! I got my tracking # and my countdown is only 2 more days which is perfect. I start vacation Friday so I'll be home to receive it and have 9 days to play. Those that pre-ordered the first day shouldn't have long to wait.

Yep, I think you are right. It's just that when I logged in prior to posting, I no longer saw anything with the 13th. At any rate, my order was in the books by 21:30.

Today I had mentally prepared myself for the following...

Thur. 12/22 Sager announces 9750's shipping. 1st build day.
Fri 12.23 2nd build day.
Mon 12/26 Holiday for Christmas even though the guys at PC Torque were working.
Tues. 12/27 3rd build day
Wed. 12/28 4th build day
Thur. 12/29 5th build day but completed too late to ship. :-(
Fri. 12/30 9750 ships
Tues. 1/3 Recieve tracking notice. Screwed by another Monday holiday.
Thurs. 1/5 Finally receive 9750.

Good luck to all those waiting!
