Those who are putting in their own ram, what brand are you putting in? it can only be DDR400 right?

thanks
Any DDR400 PC3200 SO-DIMM should fit in d900k. Can't go wrong with mushkin, crucial or corsair value select. Kingston is decent, plus it's much cheaper than the others.

Of course if you got the cash corsair system select is very good, and also very expensive.
How would he Corsair System Select compare to the Mushkin? What would be the fastes ram I can put into a 9860?
Personally i don't see the need to get System Select since the cheaper rams are just as good. Unless of course you are into overclocking.

Is the 9860 similar to the 9890? If so i think you need DDR2 at 533 MHz.

I have been watching this forum since early October. I finally ordered my 9750 this morning. There's only one thing that really bothers me. I can't remember seeing anything about the Nvidia Quadro Go 1400 being replaced anytime soon. If anyone has any info on Nvidia's plans for a new Quadro Go, please post something.

Also, I want to know if anyone has done any gaming on the Quadro yet. I will be using this machine mainly for 3D apps and design apps, however, I definitely like to game every now and then. I know this vid card rocks in 3d design, but what about Half Life 2, Call of Duty, FarCry?

Thanks

Whoa Luke, you added the 9750 to the PCtorque "Best Selling Notebook" section. It seem that you selling them like hotcake's :-)
The 9750 is nearly set to bypass the sales of the 5720.

Did you refresh the section quantities for 2006 ? or is it an on-going Best Selling list with past year's sales ?

OCZ is a company that caters to gaming enthusiasts by supplying quality RAM that can be easily and stabily overclocked. However, there value line isn't as good as some other companies, and the CAS latency on the sticks you're looking at could be better. OCZ often offsets this by their "Enhanced Bandwidth" stuff, but I don't know how good the quality is on their value line. You can get a stick from Crucial with comparable timings for about $100, so personally I'd recommend that route.

I've switched to zipzoomfly.com and pagecomputer.com

Those two companies pretty much cover all of my IT purchases.

I use:

New Egg
Tiger Direct
FrozenCPU (my number one for modding)
Performance PCs
VoyeurMods
Xoxide

And my forbidden lover: Amazon

Trust me, I order tons of shit (which is really stupid on my part as my garage looks like a computer supply store).
You could also try the Mushkin. Ditto for me also on the FrozenCPU, Xoxide suppliers.

anyone swapping out their cd's to slot loads?
i want a slot load and i need to replace a cd drive on my alienware laptop. figured i would get the new slot load for the 9750, and swap the included cd rom drive to my alienware.

Pioneer Slot Load DVR-K05 DVD±R/+R DL/±RW Dual Drive 8X has some awesome reviews out there. and for a good price.

Ageia PPU...

Hi,

I'm going to buy this notebook very soon. However, I'd like to know if the Ageia PPU card is supposed to go PCMCIA anytime in the future... Indeed, what if PPU units become some kind of a standard in the future ?

Also, do PCMCIA Soundblaster X-Fi cards already exist ?

Thanks for the info.
