FYI the clevo spec is for the card reader is with an adaper on the 7-in-1.... so technically it is still a 7. I beleive Sager will be shipping with the adapter, they just list the reader a little more acurately.

Then Sager should list the offering as Clevo does. ..."a little more acurately" is a bit feeble. Does Sager attempt to qualify all of Clevo's specs?

Clevo lists the reader as "Built-in 10-in-1 Card Reader (MS/MS Pro/SD/MMC/CF/SM/MicroDrive/MS DUO/Mini SD/RSMMC)". The point is, does this mean that the Clevo, and Sager, card reader reads 10 cards or 7 cards? I don't see the relevance in HOW you get there, just so you CAN. If you read Sager's specs, there is NO indication the card reader has any capacity for 10 cards.

IMO, poor defense of Sager!

BTW: It's "accurately"...just the wrong word to spell inaccurately.

Does it use dual or single channel memory? I have heard it will only be single channel, which is a rip for such a high-end laptop!
Well, if Clevo says it's a built-in 10 in 1 card reader and in actuality it's only a 7 in 1 that can be converted with an adapter, then it's not really built-in, now is it? I'd rather Sager give me the real info than be surprised and disappointed when Clevo dicks me over. As for the--at the moment--lack of dual channel AND dual core support, it looks like the best thing about this laptop at the moment is that it'll drop the price of the 9890. Man, I hope things change.

What does it really matter if Sager lists it as 10 or 7? Luke just confirmed it was the same damn reader. Card reader labeling is getting out of hand anyway. Take a look at Tiger direct some time with their 21-in-1 readers (are there even that many formats?). SM is not even available anymore as nobody supports it (cause it was crap) SD and MMC are basically the same thing (MMC is pointless and going the way of SM), MS Duo and MSPro Duo are the same interface. The point I am trying to make is when someone lists supported cards like MMC and SD, or MS Duo or MS Pro Duo, etc, they use the same interface, it is bloating the numbers to sell cause more is better right Can I call mine a 11-in-1 reader cause I have an adapter to add xD via the SM interface

Directly off Sager's website:

"AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor supported. The dual-core technology enables you to do more in less time by delivering exceptional multi-tasking capabilities and increased performance on digital media. "

I would like Dualchannel memory though . . .

When did the D900k stop having dual-channel memory?

Sager claims it is Dual Core compatible. Clevo, the manufacturer, does not. It is still undergoing testing as apparently it is unstable at the moment.

Yeah and Clevo lists Dual channel memory and Sager does not, yet people are throwing a fit about that. Just wait for a month, when they are released and we can see the actual specs when we configure it then we can bitch if necessary. There are too many different specs listed for me to trust any of them right now. And if you are really worried, get a 9890

The D900K has dual-channel memory. Just because something is not said, does not mean it doesn't exist.

Actually the Sager site specifies "Single channel memory".

Sager say that this is an "early draft", as we all knew, but there it is from the horses mouth.

Edit: If you want a response from sager do not e-mail their sales. I have had one reply from that address. The rest have been ignored. The one that did get replied to I received a read receipt and no reply. so I e-mailed the guy asking why he hadn't replied and he reconed he hadn't got it :-( I e-mailed their technical address and got an immediate response.

The motherboard is the Via K8T890, which has dual-channel memory. Sager cannot disable or change those motherboard specs.

802.11 a/b/g + bluebooth

I was just looking at the 5720? specs and noticed that it can have an 802.11a/b/g module *and* a bluetooth module. I was very excited and was wondering if this would be possible with the 9750? Would be great. I really need this.
