I disagree. If you bring it with you you must share with the class.

nice system, how much did you pay for this desktop if I may ask?

prices for X2 dropped by 8-10%. So will that be reflected in the sager's laptop pricing also ..like a $100 less??

I am posting the new prices from one of the sites

if you go to sagernotebook.com and click on 9750, the expected ship date changed from mid november to mid december...........seem like it not going to be availble until early 2006
post #625 of 1260
Damn, I hope not another delay!

It gets worse! Eurocom just pulled it from their workstation lineup and placed it back on the "FUTURE" page with a mid-December estimated ship date. Voodoo just revised theirs from mid-November to "NO ETA".

Guess I'll just go over to the Hypersonic site and order the D900T. What's the old saying...Trick me once, shame on you, trick me twice and SHAME ON ME!

Better they delay shipping if there is an issue, than let thousands of customers get frustrated when the thing shuts down without reason, doesn't boot, overheats, etc.

This makes my decision easier.. I'm leaving overseas on the 13th of Dec. so if I had ordered mid-november, I would be cutting it close to getting it to me.. This way I can wait till I return without fear..

BTW.. speaking of F.E.A.R.. I can run the sucker on high-res (1600x1200), with no slowdowns, but it seems like every few steps I take (I have to be moving forward or back) it stutters for a second, as if the system froze.. If I stand in one spot and spin, I can spin forever and nothing happens, and the FPS appears to remain constant.. Anyone else suffer this, and knows way around it? It's distracting from the experience to walk into a room full of baddies, wait 1 second for "load" (???) and then blast away...

BTW, tried dropping the rez. down to 1024x768 just to see if things would change, and well, they didn't, not even a little bit (other than not looking as sharp...)

Anyword on this Luke? Maybe a reason why? I agree, better to release a good product than a not good one, but we are getting close to other new technologies coming down the line that would cause potential buyers to hold off yet again . . .

rotorhead.. like what?

only thing i can think of is 'technology' gets release ahead of its sustainable/reliable time.. at the time new technology comes out, the 9750 will have been worked out.. and then users wana go to the latest and greatest (that isn't out yet.. that 'better technology') , so they wait for it, and then something else comes down the line and that 'old technology' is just getting worked out.

great pattern!

I was hoping to have this before my next LAN, Damn. oh well.

Well yonah, comes out next year around may, so if this machine is delayed further then alot of people will wait for that,

as if you have the choice get a HOT amdx2 or a Cool Yonah which will give at least 4 times as much battery life and could still be as powerfull if not more I'd go for the yonah

The 9750 is now delaye until Dec , still in Clevo testing.
..just makes our life interesting for all those waiting, especially in dec when we will have more details on the 9750 and other competing notebooks/technologies. In the interim, make do with what you have....[sigh]
hay luke how about ill buy u a plasma gun from the movie "doom" and you bring it to clevos and ask them what is up with the 9750 delay , surely you will get a straight answer by then

My cure for that was to have something monitoring my hard drive's SMART features and disabling spindown.
if Clevo keeps pushing the date, my current computer might be old enough that I might consider buying the 9750.
waiting is better than getting a flawed/defective/faulty 9750

Luke What would be the chances of seeing the 9890 Vs 9750 benchmark scores and stuff? it may help some of us to finally put what we want into finalization.

As soon as they finish this machine and get me one, we will have it up. I would compare it to results others have got, but something about those sites that whoever pays the most gets the best reveiw.... well i'll wait till i get my own.
