Yes the laptop cooler runs off of a USB port and then has a replacement port on the laptop cooler so that you can plug a device into that and don't end up using a USB port just for the cooler.

Say that 5 times fast, man that hardly makes sense!

sweet pics. I like the set-up. Did you clean up prior to taking the pics or are you just that tidy?

Thanks and yes I did clean up my desk. I'm hardly that clean as a programmer but every once and a while I do look like I'm a perfectionist.

I have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F828 ... it does a nice job.

I've read lots of reviews here on Notebook Forums and checked out lots of photos. This is the nicest looking set of photos I've seen - much better than anything on Dell's website. Thanks for posting!

Thanks alot, I would really like to see the difference, because I also ordered an XPS Gen2 with the 40% off coupon.

Did you really swap the screens? Was it difficult?

Yeah. Since I had two XPS laptops I just swapped the top of the XPS which includes the screen and housing, that's EXTREMELY easy however switching the screen itself isn't that hard. Just go slow and you'll be fine. Make sure to read the Dell tech article which shows you how to do this.

Can you shut off the LED in the cooler or are they on whenever the cooler is?

They are always blue but if you don't want them to work simply open it up, break out 4 leds (i think) or 5 for each fan then you won't see any color. Personally I like it how it is.
