I finally decided on the M60 due to battery life since I'm now at school most of the time, graphics chip, and screen resolution. I used a 10% off coupon combined with the current $500 Small Business discount, so i got a $3300-$3400 configuration for $2600 (not including tax)
Pentium M 1.6 GHz (price difference for 1.7 is rediculous)
512 MB DDR RAM (add more later)
60 gig 7200 rpm drive
8-24-24-24x DVD/CD-RW combo drive
15.4" WUXGA display
Quadro FX 700 128 MB DDR
WinXP
Internal Modem
No floppy
802.11b radio (school only has b
)
Norton 2003
Good deal? Bad deal? Let me know. This is meant to replace my current desktop which is about 3 years old, and while the M chip isn't a 3 GHz HT monster by any means, I think I'll be happy with the laptop. I won't be doing much gaming on it simply due to the lack of time, but it should hold up fine for the games I want to do.
