Does anyone know how to adjust the contrast of the 8886. I have looked in the advanced display properties and I cant find a way to adjust it.

Seems like the only thing you can do is download powerstrip. I dont want to do that. So I try to live with it. The contrast isnt a problem in games though, just when I browse some websites.

Why not download powerstrip, is there something bad about it?

I just did this and it looks pretty simple, non intrusive, and has some good features. I am curious why you don't want it?

i don't see any difference between powerstrip vs. ATI except for the clocking part (which I don't want to play around with)

Hmm.. the contrast on the 8886 screen was best adjusted by moving the screen itself to the angle that best suits you... reading text is hard on any LCD if it's not positioned properly (lol, yes, even with the dell ultrasharp). Also, you might consider turning on cleartype if you have XP and if that isn't on... If it is, you might consider turning it off :-) because I've seen people who like it better one way or another.
