Difference between a 3400 Ferrari and a 4005?

Hey guys, I like the styling of the 3400 better, but the Turion of the 4005. Are there any other differences between the two that justify the higher price of the 4005?

Thanks

Ferrari 3400
CPU: AMD64 3200+
GPU: AIT 9700 128 Mb
HD: 80 Gig
RAM: 512 Mb
Screen: 15.1" SXGA

Ferrari 4005
CPU: Turion ML37
GPU: AIT x700 128 Mb
HD: 100 Gig
RAM: 1 Gb
Screen: 15.4" WSXGA

Performance wise the 4005 has twice the gameing power of the the 3400. More HD space and more ram keep upping the anti. Overall, the 4005 is superior in every way to the 3400.

Alright, thanks Rustican. You have been most helpful. Looks like the Ferrari 4005 will be my notebook of choice then. There isnt' going to be a new one coming out in 1-2 months though is there?

I will be buying in 4-6 weeks when I get my annual bonus... so I want to make sure I get the most for my money.

Thanks again,

Will

There is a lower end Ferrari 4000 comming out, called the Ferrari 4002.

It's suppose to have a Turion ML 1.6 Ghz (the 4005 has a 2.0 Ghz)
and uses only integrated grafics the x200 ATI i believe.

I also hear that it will have only 512 Meg of RAM.
No price listed yet.

That shouldn't deserve the Ferrari name. I think they should call it that model Honda 4002.

BAR honda actually is doing pretty well this year. i think acer should call it the renaut considering the standings

I am surprised that the ferraris arnt dominating the field in F1 this year like the previous. It is BAR honda?? i cant believe it.... but maclaren/mercedes isnt that bad, and hopefully they can pull ahead if juan pablo montoya can pull off some victories. w

I doubt they will put Integrated only graphics in a Ferrari branded laptop, the 1.6 ghz and 512 meg I can belive that would make it similar to the Turion based Travelmate with the 64 meg X700 Graphics, which BTW is only about $1300 very nicely equiped, infact I am thinking about buying that one even if it lacks the curved keyboard and carbon fiber screen enclosure.

Difference: Only 2 -----X700
1 more hour of battery life
The rest is trash

I am really debating on what to get at the moment. I really like the curved keyboard, and the slot loading DVD burner, as well as the 1GB DDR. I don't know about the HD though, as I assume it's only 4200RPM, correct?

I would rather have at least a 5400 if not a 7200. And the RAM is easily upgraded, correct? (i.e.-not hidden under keyboard or anything)

The rest of it I like though. I want the videocard, and it doesn't seem to be too large or heavy as I have been lugging around an HP Pavilion zd7260us 17" notebook. That was like packing a brick.

Anyway, if anybody has any suggestion, I'm open to them. I'm also going to be purchasing a Gateway 325x for my fiance for her birthday. Does anyone have anything good to say about them?

Thanks again,

Will
